The Oster BPST02 is the Energizer Bunny of Blenders! I have had it for several months and it works flawlessly. I use it several times a day to make all sorts of smoothies and power shakes. I swear this thing could grind bricks if I threw them in. There is absolutely nothing negative to say about this product.

Best of all it has only 2 settings: on or pulse - you don't have to wonder if you want speed setting 1 or 2 or 3. If you want a blender for daily use this is the one you want - it's made of metal [not wimpy plastic] and will blend whatever you put into it. Very pleased indeed my friends even without a good deal, price or sale.

I bought this blender for frozen drinks. Our 20 year old Oster would struggle with a full jar of ice. It started smoking one time so frozen drinks became a chore having to do a 1/3 jar of ice at a time. Maxim magazine reviewed four powerful blenders in a past issue and this Oster was the least expensive at $100 and performed well. I happened upon this one for less than $60 shipped. I received it in less than a week. Let me start by saying that this thing looks like a tool more than a kitchen appliance. I happen to like that. Its retro design is still attractive enough to leave on the countertop. The switch is a simple 2 position down for pulse or up for wide open throttle. Those are the only speeds I ever used anyway and cleaning between all of the small buttons is a thing of the past. It makes fast work of a blender full of ice cubes. An air pocket develops sometime over the blades and the mix stops getting sucked to the bottom, but a shake of the jar will settle it back on the blades. By the time this happens the drink is usually done anyway. Some reviewers complained of the noise and it is loud but not much different than my old blender. As I mentioned, I bought this for frozen drinks (bar drinks) so waking somebody up wasn't a factor. If you are looking for an all business heavy duty blender I highly recommend this one.

I did a lot of research on blenders before committing to this one, including polling friends and family with discerning taste when it comes to cooking and appliances. I ended up choosing this one based on its simplicity and the three year warranty, a rarity in most anything you can purchase today. This model is simple, easy to clean, nice looking, and most importantly, has an awesome way with Margaritas and smoothies. And it isn't nearly as loud as I feared it would be based on what many of the other reviewers had said.

I highly recommend it. I am very happy with this blender. We bought it to make smoothies at a school fair. We made about 100 smoothies in an afternoon. It grinds through ice and frozen strawberries with ease. Much better than the other blenders we had in action there too. Yes it is loud, but not as bad as I expected based on the other reviews. Certainly nothing that would take a star away.
